Colorado native Jeff Garmire has set a new record for the fastest time ever to complete an unsupported hike along the Colorado Trail. Garmire made the 486-mile journey in nine days, 8 hours, and 18 minutes. He started at the trailhead in Durango and made the hike all the way to Denver.Sep 8, 2020
— June 11, 2020— Public access to Waterton Canyon will resume on weekdays only starting Monday, June 15, 2020. Waterton Canyon offers a year-round respite from the Denver Metro just 22 short miles away. Located in Littleton, Waterton is open 12 months a year. The road into the canyon is plowed and maintained by Denver Water since the reservoir above the canyon provides water to the city.
The Colorado Trail is a long-distance trail running for 486 miles (782 km) from the mouth of Waterton Canyon southwest of Denver to Durango in Colorado, United States. Its highest point is 13,271 feet (4,045 m) above sea level, and most of the trail is above 10,000 feet (3,000 m).
Class 3: eBikes that are pedal-assist only, with no throttle, and a maximum assisted speed of 28 mph.

Trailer parking is provided at Waterton and at the Discovery Pavilion. Wildlife viewing: Bighorn sheep and mule deer are often seen in the canyon, which also hosts more than 40 species of birds.
Electric bicycles are no longer defined as motor vehicles or off-road vehicles but are properly defined within three classes. Electric bicycle riders have similar rights, privileges and duties as traditional bicycle riders.Mar 31, 2021
Cheesman was closed to public access following the Hayman fire in 2002.
It re-opened for use June, 2007. Currently, access is restricted to the Goose Creek arm. Fishers can expect to encounter northern pike, trout, kokanee, smallmouth bass and perch.

Swimming: Swimming and wading are prohibited in the Strontia Springs Reservoir as body contact with the water is against Denver Water's regulations. Wildlife Viewing: The hike to Strontia Springs Reservoir is famous for ample bighorn sheep viewing opportunities. For this reason, dogs are not permitted on the trail.
Electric bikes in Colorado do not require licensing or registration. However, Class III electric bikes can only be operated by those who are aged 16 or older.
Chimney Gulch Trail is in the Jefferson County trail system and is connected to the Windy Saddle Trail and Park. The trail climbs to 2,000 feet in 2.5 miles from Highway 6 to the summit at Lookout Mountain Nature Center.
The Park sits divided between Park and Jefferson counties, in Pine, Colorado. The first 1,720-acre parcel of land was donated to then Colorado State Parks in 1986 by Frances Hornbrook Staunton.
