Applications for admission to undergraduate qualifications (higher certificates, advanced certificates, diplomas, advanced diplomas & degrees) for the 2021 academic year will be open from 1 September to 30 November 2020. All applications for admission must be submitted online during the prescribed application period.
Approved funded programmes at universities are all undergraduate whole qualifications i.e. degree, diploma or higher certificate programme, offered by a public university. Additional courses that are not core requirements of a whole qualification are not funded. Occasional programmes are not funded.
Pay the online application fee of R115,00. Please note that the application fee is non-refundable even if you decide not to study through Unisa or do not qualify for admission to Unisa. Unisa does not accept cash at any of its offices.

ACCEPTED: A general admission status which signifies that the prospective student has met enrollment requirements. Students accepted into the university can enroll and attend classes; however, this does not necessarily mean they have been accepted into their program of choice.
Enrollment status is defined by the number of credit hours a student is enrolled in each quarter for purposes of loan deferments, financial aid eligibility or any other official certification. Enrollment information for each degree program is outlined in the chart below.
Enrollment is when the application has been accepted and the student must now enroll into the college, i.e. submit the required documents to the admissions office. The term admission refers to the entire admission process, which includes applying, enrollment, and registration.
What does “In Process” mean in a job application? This means that your application was reviewed by someone and you are under consideration for the opportunity.
When and how will I receive the outcome of my application? Online applicants will receive either a final or deferred status within 48 hours. Hardcopy applicants will receive either a final or deferred status within 5 working days.
If you have lost your student number, or can't remember it, visit https://my.unisa. and click on "Forgotten Student Number?" in the left navigation bar. Submit your details to search for your student number.
How to check NSFAS status online?
- Log in to the MyNSFAS student portal at the official NSFAS website.
- Input your username, password, and click on SIGN IN.
- Search for Track Funding Progress and click on it.
How to track the delivery of Unisa study material & degrees
- Go to the Skynet website www.skynet.co.za.
- Hover over “Customer Services”
- Click on “Unisa Student Tracking”
- Enter your student number and click on “List Shipments”
- Click on the “Shipment No” to view the waybill.
If you wish to decline your offer to UniSA, you will need to log back into your SATAC application and respond with the option 'I reject my offer'.
