CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A new study shows Charlotte is one of the least safe cities in the state. Wallet Hub compared 180 cities using 41 indicators such as crime, accidents, natural disasters and financial security. Charlotte ranked as the 53rd safest city in the country, but behind Winston-Salem, Raleigh and Durham.
Like most major cities, crime is something to be aware of if you're moving to Charlotte. But crime is on the decline. Though there are certain parts of town where you wouldn't want to walk alone, residents feel that Charlotte is safe, friendly and welcoming.
