Hard Reset GoPro HERO SESSION
- First of all, power off the GoPro Camera.
- Next turn on the status screen by pressing the Menu button.
- Then press the Menu key a few times until you choose Exit Menu.
- Afterwatds hold down the Shutter button for about 10 seconds.

Three years after its introduction, GoPro is killing its Session camera line. The writing was on the wall when the company neglected to refresh the hardware at its Hero6 event last year, but the Hero5 Session kept chugging along as the entry-level GoPro until the company showed off a new $199 Hero camera in March.

Android) Tap "HERO4

Go back to the GoPro App:
- Tap "Pair" to connect via Bluetooth.
- Then tap "Join" to connect to the Wi-Fi on your camera.

Setting Up Your GoPro Camera
- Take off the GoPro's protective waterproof housing. (Skip to the next step if you're using a HERO5 Black or Session.)
- Put the battery in the camera. (Skip to next step if you're using a Session.)
- Load the microSD memory card.
- Charge the camera.
- Power up the camera.
- Shoot some video.
- Take a still photo.
Press the Mode button repeatedly, until "RESET" is highlighted at the bottom of the list, then press the Shutter button to select. Press the Mode button to highlight "RESET," then press the Shutter button to confirm and restore the camera to Factory Settings.
Try to pair the remote to the camera as a 'new' remote (i.e. select "Wi-Fi RC > New" in the camera's Wi-Fi menu). If pairing doesn't work, try to connect to the camera's Wi-Fi network with a phone/tablet. You'll need to switch the camera to "GoPro App" mode in the camera's Wi-Fi menu first.
The default password for a HERO4 Silver camera is "goprohero" - all lower case letters. I see that you have tried it out already. Will you be able to do another reset on your camera's Wi-Fi settings? You can follow this: To reset the username and password to the defaults, go to Setup mode.
Reset GoPro HERO5 Session
- Power the camera off and press the Menu button to turn on the status screen.
- Press the Menu button repeatedly until you get to Exit Menu.
- Press and hold the Shutter button for eight seconds.
- Press the Menu button to move to Yes, then press the Shutter button to select it.
Resetting the WiFi password can be done via the camera's menu. All you need to do is go to your camera's settings, select “RESET CAM” and then “RESET WI-FI”. That's it! Now you can pair your phone through the GoPro app with your camera the same way as you did it the first time.
If you've never changed the camera name or Wi-Fi password the default password should be "goprohero". Once connected to your camera's Wi-Fi network, go back to the GoPro App and you should be all set!
If not, try going into "Settings" then "Apps". Next scroll over to "ALL" and then locate the camera app. Tap it and tap "Clear Data". Then reboot the phone.
You should find the name of your camera listed in your available Wi-Fi networks to select as something like "GOPRO-BP-" and the default password will be "goprohero". Once connected to your camera's Wi-Fi network, go back to the the GoPro App on your phone or tablet.
