The ecobee also has a humidity sensor within the base. So, if the ecobee senses the humidity is higher than desired, it can continue running the AC even as the temperature goes below your lower set point in order to remove more moisture from the air.
To Configure Temperature Correction
- Press Menu on the main screen.
- Go to Settings.
- Then go to Installation Settings.
- Select Thresholds.
- Then select Temperature Correction.
- Adjust the temperature reading to fit your needs.

1 Set Location
- Enter your ecobee account credentials, then click Sign In.

As of 7/22/2014, Ecobee uses CustomWeather (). Depending on where you live, they can be accurate or way off. I also live in an area with microclimates, and CustomWeather uses a weather station at a local airport (15 miles away).

Smart thermostat maker Ecobee has announced its first indoor security camera, the $179 SmartCamera. The device is actually just one piece of a new home security platform, which the company calls Haven.
Ecobee doesn't learn your patterns like Nest, but they offer different solutions. During the setup, you input your preferred temperature and time periods when you're typically home, away, and sleeping.
This fifth-generation model looks very similar to 2017's Ecobee4, and it shares that model's built-in Alexa smart speaker features. Smart home thermostat company Ecobee today rolled out Eco+, a free suite of machine learning features, to all its thermostats with voice control. Eco+ uses machine learning to tailor temperature settings and cut costs. It also helps you further reduce energy consumption and move to clean energy.
What is it? With Smart Home/Smart Away enabled, when your thermostat senses you're home during a scheduled Away period or away during a scheduled Home period, it will automatically override your schedule for comfort (Smart Home) or savings (Smart Away).

- Select the account icon in the top right corner. Select "My Account."
- Select "Unregister Thermostat" from the menu on the left. Select all of the thermostats you wish to unregister, then select "Unregister" in the bottom right corner.
How accurate is the temperature sensor in the ecobee? The ecobee temperature sensor has a +/- 1.0F accuracy and is programmed to provide readings every 15 seconds. It will use the previous two values and average them into the current reading.
Auto mode on your ecobee thermostat is great for maintaining a comfortable home temperature in milder climates or in-between heating and cooling seasons. While on this system mode, the ecobee will display two set points—one for heating and one for cooling.
2 Set Your Schedule
- Wake up your ecobee Smart Thermostat, then tap Menu.

- Tap on the activity you wish to adjust.
- Select the desired start time, then tap Save.
- If you wish to add a new activity, select the +.
- Select the Comfort Setting and then tap Save.
Whenever you manually adjust your ecobee to a different temperature that's not the scheduled set point, your ecobee will go into a “hold." This means instead of following your set schedule, your thermostat will follow the hold action until the hold is manually cancelled, or until your preferred hold action setting

This process is performed every time the thermostat reboots and usually takes anywhere from 5 to 20 minutes. In these cases, the thermostat will often reboot on a call for heating or cooling.

If your ecobee was previously powered on and working fine, a sudden black screen usually indicates insufficient voltage going to the thermostat. The ecobee draws power from the furnace, so any disruption to this power source will result in a loss of power at the thermostat.

The ecobee cannot support multi fan speeds, it can only turn the fan on and off. The ecobee will not be able to adjust blower speed. You may have different speeds for heating and cooling and then different speeds depending on the stage of heating or cooling. But you can not adjust those speeds through the ecobee.
A blown fuse on the furnace control board
Open the panel on your furnace to expose the control panel where your thermostat wires are connected. Most systems have a purple 3 or an orange 5 amp fuse on the board—check this fuse to ensure that it's intact. Once a blown fuse is replaced, the ecobee should power back on.Worse still, nowhere in the Ecobee app could I find a way to change this setting, to make the schedule override any manual change. Fortunately, there is indeed a way: Head to the Ecobee site and sign into your account. Click Settings > Preferences > Hold Action, then choose Until the next scheduled activity.
