Play hair color in any color mixing bowl. Apply the color where desired to dry hair and be sure to saturate the hair completely for the best results.
how to use
- When time's up, rinse completely without emulsifying.
- Follow with Elumen Shampoo.
- Finish with your favorite Elumen conditioner.
Mix with SilkLift Lotion 3% in 1:3 or 1:2 ratio (e.g. 1 part powder + 3 part lotion). Create a customized consistency for specific areas or for full head application. Apply to towel-dried hair to the sections where you want to remove Elumen Play. Process up to 30 min without heat (checking strands every 5 -10 min).
The Elumen range in Goldwell is 100% free of PPD and its derivatives, so is a great alternative for those who know they are allergic to this ingredient.

Elumen works by creating a physical change to the hair, not a chemical one. Use your hands to run the product through your hair and thoroughly coat it all. Wait 5 minutes and then wash and condition your hair. Let Elumen Lock sit on your hair for five minutes so that it can effectively protect your hair color. Then shampoo your hair with your regular shampoo and rinse it out.
For high lift blondes mix two parts developer to one part hair color. Ensure the developer and hair color is thoroughly mixed. 4. Standart processing time: 30 minutes.
According to the European Cosmetic Directive an expiration date is not required for Goldwell hair color products as these products are stable for more than 30 months.
Apply about 40 ml of LOCK onto towel-dried hair immediately after coloration with Elumen hair color and distribute evenly. Leave for 5 minutes. Then rinse thoroughly.
Elumen Prepare is a pre-color treatment specifically designed to prepare damaged, high-lifted or bleached hair prior to coloring with Elumen to assist in holding Elumen dyes in the hair to improve durability, shine and intensity.

If you get Elumen on your skin, the best way to remove it is with alcohol. I usually use a disinfectant, since it's easy to get and quite cheap. When I dye my roots, I always get the dye on my scalp too. It does stain the scalp but comes off in a few days.
