Create a file
- On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Docs, Sheets, or Slides app.
- In the bottom right, tap Create .
- Choose whether to use a template or create a new file. The app will open a new file.

1 Answer. The rough texture side is good at "grabbing" and creating friction. So it is better for things like pencils/graphite and for allowing it to deposit into the texture of the paper. The smooth side is better for precise application of liquid medium such as inks.
