Re: Delete cache and saved dataYou only erase the actual downloaded files in your phone, but they will remain in your playlists available for streaming.
Clear your cache
- Click in the top-right corner of the desktop app and select Settings.
- Scroll down and click SHOW ADVANCED SETTINGS.
- Scroll down to Offline songs storage to see where your cache is stored.
- Go to that folder on your computer.
- Select and delete all the files in that folder.
To remove a album follow these steps:
- Open Spotify and go to the "Album view"
- Open the album that you want to remove.
- Scroll all the way up (so that you see the cover).
- Press the "saved"-button so it says "save" instead.
- Finished.
If you un-install Spotify, it will remove downloaded songs (if you are premium), however, playlists will stay there on your account they will not be deleted.
The Spotify cache is an area on your computer that stores temporary versions of your tracks, as well as fragments of tracks. The cache also relieves pressure on Spotify's servers and your Internet Service Provider because it stores tracks you've played before and may listen to again.
How to delete downloaded songs on Spotify
- Launch Spotify and open Your Library tab.
- Tap Albums or Playlists to browse.
- Downloaded content shows a green arrow.
- Select the downloaded album or playlist to remove from local storage.
- Tap the Downloaded toggle.
- Choose Remove to confirm. The album or playlist stays in your library, but can only be played streaming online.
To stop this happening, you need to go to "songs" and turn off the download switch. Note that this will "undownload" all your songs and you will need to go to the albums and playlists you want to have available offline and turn on the "download" switch for each one.
These instructions are the same whether you have the iOS or Android version of Spotify.
- To see your discography, tap “Your Library” on the bottom tray of options.
- To sort your music by albums that you have downloaded to your device, click the “Albums” tab, then swipe down to reveal a search bar.
You can change it if you want, but the empty directory takes up no space, so there is really no need to delete the directory, itself. The download directory receives all kinds of files--documents and media files, executables, software installation packages, etc. Those files remain there unless you move or delete them.
The Downloads folder is the default download location for programs, images, and other files downloaded from online. It's important to keep track of that folder because it can fill up fast. If you delete a picture or a document from the Downloads folder unless you've moved it somewhere else, it will be deleted.
Go to Desktop and find the Recycle Bin icon. Then, right click on the Recycle Bin icon and select Empty Recycle Bin. You can set Windows to clear your downloads folder in an automatic way. To do this, go to Settings, then to System and to Storage.
Overall, you can safely delete almost everything in Disk Cleanup as long as you don't plan on rolling back a device driver, uninstalling an update, or troubleshooting a system problem. But you should probably steer clear of those “Windows ESD Installation files” unless you're really hurting for space.
Deleting App PurchasesThen, choose “Purchase” button, and then you will see all of the list of apps you have bought in the past. All you have to do is then look for the “All” button in the history and delete the history. It's that simple.
To do that, long press on any of the apps until your device vibrates and the app is selected. You can then continue to long press on apps listed in your history and tap on the delete icon at the top of your screen when you're done.
So you should be able to free up some storage space by deleting these unnecessary files. You'll find your downloads folder -- which might be called My Files -- in your app drawer. Tap and hold a file to select it, then tap the trash can icon, the remove button or the delete button to get rid of it.
Downloads can fill your Mac's memory, and it's easy to forget about the documents and media that fill your download folder. You can also clear your download history from Internet browsers such as Safari and Google Chrome when those queues fill up, though this won't delete the files themselves.
If you are a free user deleting your cache does nothing but give you more memory space. If they were offline playlists or tracks you will need to download them again, Spotify will probably do it automatically though.
One of the reasons for this could be because some songs get re-uploaded from the artists with a new version.
Not downloading? Check your device isn't in sleep mode. Make sure there's enough free space on the device's memory (we recommend at least 1GB). Your device must have an active internet connection.
You can also download songs on up to five devices now. You can now download 10,000 songs onto a device with Spotify. Spotify is letting you download a whole lot more music for offline listening -- 6,667 more tracks, to be precise.
Nope, unfortunately your offline songs will be removed from your device after your subscription ends. You can always subscribe to Spotify Premium again to save your songs offline again and enjoy on-demand, ad-free listening!
Lastly, log in to the Spotify app on your phone and start saving your playlist offline. Using the file manager you will see that the offline music will now be saved in your external SD card (in the folder “Android -> data -> com. spotify.
Step 1: Open the Spotify app. Step 2: Select the Your Library tab at the bottom-right corner of the screen. Step 3: Tap the Edit button to the right of the Recently Played section. Step 4: Touch the red circle to the left of the song, album, or playlist that you want to remove from the Recently Played section.
On Spotify, there is currently no way to clear your history and start fresh. You have to retrain the algorithm by continuously listening to stuff you like. If your kids want to listen to the Frozen soundtrack, Spotify recommends family plans, which give up to five members of a household their own account.
So the Queue is just a list of what songs will play after the one you're currently listening to. If you are listening to an playlist straight through, the next song in the queue will be the next in the playlist, for example. If you add a song to queue, Spotify will assume you want to hear it next after now playing.
