To download the latest Server EditionRight-click the Download button below and choose Save link as or Save target as and save the installer file to your desktop (AccountRight subscription is required). Close all programs, then double-click the downloaded file to install the new AccountRight version.
You can download a trial version or student version from our website. Just find the AccountRight product you'd like to try and click Try free for 30 days. If you're downloading for study purposes, when prompted click I need MYOB for study (students only).
Re: Removing old versions of MYOBYes you can remove old verisons of AccountRight to free up space on your computer. It will just mean that if you want to open any old files or back ups, they will need to be upgraded to your current verison of AccountRight.
Upgrading AccountRight

There are two options for a customer purchasing MYOB AccountRight Basics, Standard and Plus. Purchase an Outright desktop licence for a one-off cost. This a traditional desktop software limited to one user licence with online accounting benefits available free for the first six months.
The contact log enables you to keep a detailed log of all the phone calls you and your contacts make to each other, and any other type of correspondence. For example, let's say that you call a customer regarding an overdue invoice.
To find a transaction using the Find Transactions window
- From any command centre, click Find Transactions from the bottom of the command centre.
- In the Find Transactions window, click the appropriate tab—for example, the Card tab to search by card.
- Filter your search using the Search By and date range fields.
Audit trailTo view the Journal Security Audit report, go to Reports > Index to Reports > Accounts tab > Security and Audit section.
- Go to the Payroll reports section of the Reports page.
- Click Pay items transactions.
- Filter the report: To report on pay items within a certain date range, enter the range in the From and To fields.
- Click Generate report. The report appears as a PDF in an Adobe Reader window, ready for you to review, save or print.
To enter a bank statement manually
- Open the cashbook for the relevant business.
- Go to Banking> Enter bank statement.
- Select the bank or credit card account for which you are entering the statement.
- Enter a reference.
- Enter the opening balance and press ENTER or TAB.
To search for an accountIn the search field, enter part of a number or word relating to the account you're trying to find. For example, you can enter part of the account number, the account name, the account type, the tax rate or the current balance.

To reverse or delete a pay
- Ensure the Transactions CAN'T be Changed, They Must be Reversed preference is selected (go to the Setup menu > Preferences > Security tab).
- Display the pay to be reversed:
- Go to the Edit menu and choose Reverse Transaction.

Go to the Payroll command centre and click Payroll Reporting. The Payroll Reporting window opens. Click Create Update Event. The Create Update Event window opens.
Install AccountRight Server Edition on the serverClick Download to install the latest version of Server Edition (AccountRight subscription is required). Once you've saved the installer to your computer, double-click it to install the new AccountRight version.
On the Welcome window, right-click the old company file name (in the Recently opened company files list) and choose Remove from list. Click Open. Click Online and sign into your MYOB account. Select the renamed online company file and click Open.
Re: How long does it normally take for a file to be upgradedWelcome to the MYOB Community Forum, I hope you find plenty of useful information. It depends on the size of the file, but normally a file can be upgraded in less than 10 minutes. Some larger files will take longer and of course small files are quicker.
Currently, it is not possible to convert an MYOB Essentials business across to AccountRight. If that is required, my recommendation would be to take the balances of your accounts and cards (customer and supplier) as of a particular date.
To permanently work offline
- Take a backup of your online file. See Back up your company file for instructions.
- Restore the backup to the AccountRight library on your computer. See Restore your company file for instructions.

- Upgrade your file offline - At the upgrade assistant step 1, select the tick box that you do not have an internet connection and wish to upgrade offline.
Unfortunately you can only setup the conversion date/financial year when creating the file and it cannot be altered in the process. I'd suggest exporting any records you have created in the new file and importing them into your new file with the correct conversion date/financial year.
To upload an existing company file
- Start AccountRight.
- Click Open a company file.
- Click My Library.
- Select the company file that you want to upload and click Open.
- If prompted, sign in to your company file.
- Go to the File menu (or the status bar) and choose Go Online (Upload This File).
There's no limit to the number of company files you can have. You can subscribe to additional AccountRight Live online files exactly the same way as you subscribed to your first AccountRight Live file. For AccountRight desktop software, you can purchase additional standard company files.
