Click cell C2 and type "25th Percent," then select cell D2 and enter "=PERCENTILE. EXC(A:A,0.25)" into the cell. Click cell C3 and type "Median." Click cell D3 and enter "=MEDIAN(A:A)." Click cell C4 and type "75th Percent." Click cell D4 and enter "=PERCENTILE.
Step 2: Click “Stat”, then click “Basic Statistics,” then click “Descriptive Statistics.” Step 3: Click the variables you want to find the mean for and then click “Select” to move the variable names to the right window. Step 4: Click “Statistics.” Step 5: Check the “Mean” box and then click “OK” twice.
To use this function, choose Calc > Calculator. Calculates the sum, which is the result of adding two or more numbers.
1) A calculator is a device that performs arithmetic operations on numbers. The simplest calculators can do only addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. More sophisticated calculators can handle exponent ial operations, roots, logarithm s, trigonometric functions, and hyperbolic functions.
Create a calculated column
- Create a table.
- Insert a new column into the table.
- Type the formula that you want to use, and press Enter.
- When you press Enter, the formula is automatically filled into all cells of the column — above as well as below the cell where you entered the formula.
Use a list you define (single-value field)
- Choose Actions > Edit Report.
- In edit mode, beside Filters, click the edit button .
- In the filter editor, click the Add Dynamic Filter button.
- Enter a name for the filter.
- From Field, click the drop-down list and select a single-value data field.

The mean is the average of the numbers. It is easy to calculate: add up all the numbers, then divide by how many numbers there are. In other words it is the sum divided by the count.
Just subtract the mean from each of the two new terms - add up the difference and divide by the total number of new terms. This will give you the change in mean. Then add it to the old mean to get the new mean.
How to calculate the sample mean
- Add up the sample items.
- Divide sum by the number of samples.
- The result is the mean.
- Use the mean to find the variance.
- Use the variance to find the standard deviation.
Mean is just another name for average. To find the mean of a data set, add all the values together and divide by the number of values in the set. The result is your mean! To see an example of finding the mean, watch this tutorial!
Mean (Arithmetic)
The mean is essentially a model of your data set. It is the value that is most common. That is, it is the value that produces the lowest amount of error from all other values in the data set. An important property of the mean is that it includes every value in your data set as part of the calculation.Summary: The range of a set of data is the difference between the highest and lowest values in the set. To find the range, first order the data from least to greatest. Then subtract the smallest value from the largest value in the set.
The mode of a data set is the number that occurs most frequently in the set. To easily find the mode, put the numbers in order from least to greatest and count how many times each number occurs. The number that occurs the most is the mode!
