Your site may not appear in Google search results if it's too new, its pages are hidden, or its content doesn't match the keywords visitors are using. Follow this guide to learn how to fix common problems when a site or specific pages in it isn't appearing in search.
For security reasons, never use your Squarespace account password as a page password. When typing a password, you'll see a series of dots instead of text, like •••••••••••••. You can also hide your entire site behind a password. For more options for hiding your content, visit Controlling who can see your site's pages.
When you connect a custom domain to your site, you're changing its DNS (Domain Name System) settings. These changes can take anywhere between 24 and 72 hours to start working properly. Domain providers refer to this waiting period as "propagation time," or the time it takes for changes to update throughout the web.
Squarespace plans are paid monthly or yearly. We make it simple to start — and stop — your service at any time.
You can add up to 1000 pages on any of our current Squarespace plans. Some page types have their own content limits. For example, we limit the number of products you can add to a Products Page.
Go to your GoDaddy product page. Scroll down to Websites + Marketing and select Manage next to the website you want to change. Confirm that you want to unpublish your site, and then acknowledge that your site has been unpublished.

They don't provide support for your customizations and it's not always easy to make things look just so. If you aren't completely happy with the customization options in the Style Editor, you may end up needing a developer to overwrite the Squarespace template to create a new style.
It would seem so, even though it's a close call. Wix is generally a better, more versatile tool, with more flexibility for a wide range of websites. Squarespace, on the other hand, scores points for their blogging feature and their fully-responsive templates.
To start from scratch:
- Create a new trial.
- If you have products, export them from your previous site, then import them to the new site.
- If you have a domain subscription, you can move it to your new site.
- Copy any text and save any images from your existing site, then cancel it when you're ready.
When your trial expires, the site won't be public, and all content is marked for permanent deletion. Depending on how much time passes after expiration, you might be able to upgrade to paid service and continue to edit the site as you last left it.
While Squarespace has a free 14-day trial, they does not offer any free plans. Fortunately they do offer a 14-day free trial to try it first— and it does not require a credit card required. If you're looking for a free website builder, check out my in-depth article about free website builders.
The goal of Squarespace is to empower anybody to be able to build, maintain and grow a beautiful, smartly-branded website. Prices start at $5 a month to maintain a simple cover page, an ecommerce page costs $26 a month to maintain and more complicated websites cost as much as $70 a month.
Squarespace is a drag and drop, visual website builder— and it's excellent. It's the Apple of website builders: intuitive, curated and thoughtfully designed. I highly recommend it. Squarespace is known for beautiful templates but it also has outstanding features.
You can check your site with your Squarespace URL (squarespace.com) or a custom domain () if you've mapped one to your account. If you're still using a trial account, viewing your website without logging into your site will display the Squarespace Trial warning.
Is Squarespace worth the money? Squarespace is all about quality. You won't find better template designs or in-house features anywhere on the market. If you're looking for a cheap or free way to build your website, though, Squarespace isn't for you.
