TeamViewer needs a running service on the remote PC if you want to connect to a locked session (depends on the Windows version though). The service should be installed if you install TeamViewer. For Teamviewer version 12+ they have this option in top menu bar under Actions > Send Ctrl + Alt + Del.
Right-click the target connection and choose "Disconnect" from the context menu. Click "OK" to kill the session.
From the remote computer's Start menu, select Run, and run a command line with optional switches to shut down the computer:
- To shut down, enter: shutdown.
- To reboot, enter: shutdown –r.
- To log off, enter: shutdown –l.

Sadly ALVR gives me significantly higher latency then Virtual Desktop. I did try and bucket load of different settings with ALVR (experiment 10) with no change in latency. Oddly enough SteamVR seems to be less latency then running a vr game.
