Place the document face down on the scanner glass, and then close the document cover. Click the Scan tab, and then click the type of scan you require (Image, E-mail, or File). The scan settings dialog appears. Select the file type supporting multi-page documents from the File Type drop-down list.
Scanning Documents
- Place the item on the platen. Positioning Originals (Scanning from Computer)
- Start IJ Scan Utility.
- Click Settings, then set the paper size, resolution, etc. in the Settings (Document Scan) dialog box as required. When setting is completed, click OK.
- Click Document. Scanning starts.
Scan a Whole Page
- Position the original source document in the Auto Document Feeder or on the flatbed.
- Start the image editing application, select the Acquire option, and select the scanning device as the source in the opened dialog.
- Select the type of the original image or document.
In HP Scan, select the Save as PDF or Document to File shortcut. If you scanned from the scanner glass, load the next page or photo on the glass. Click the plus button or in the HP Scan preview window to scan the next item. Repeat this step until all pages or photos are scanned, and then click Save.

Scan a paper document to PDF using a preset (Windows)

- Start IJ Scan Utility.
- Click Settings.
- Click Document Scan.
- To scan the front side then the back side of each document, select Document (ADF Manual Duplex).
- Set the color mode, document size, and scanning resolution as required.

To check this out, go to Google Drive on your Android > hit the + icon at the bottom > tap Scan. Doing this, a camera interface will open with which you'll be able to scan documents and business cards. Note, while this scanner is not as feature-rich as Adobe Scan or Office Lens, it does cover all the basics.

You may need to update your printer/scanner driver. Connectivity is a possible issue – make sure any cables are secure, such as a USB connection. Your device driver for the Canon scanner may be outdated – or missing. Device drivers can become corrupted, which may cause your scanner to not work properly.
Follow the procedure below to send the scanned data as an e-mail from the computer.
- Make sure printer is turned on.
- Flick HOME screen and tap Scan.
- Tap Attach to E-mail.
- Tap E-mail from PC.
- Tap computer to forward scanned data.
- Specify settings as necessary.
- Load original document on platen glass or in ADF.
Scan a document
- Open the Google Drive app .
- In the bottom right, tap Add .

When using Scan to PDF button in the IJ Scan Utility, you should have a drop down menu for File Type that currrently shows PDF. If you click the drop down menu, you should have an option for PDF (Multiple Pages). Once you select this it will prompt you after the first page to scan additional pages if needed.
Select SettingsSelect Document Scan on the left, then make sure the Data Format setting (in the Save Settings section) is set to PDF (Multiple Pages). Select OK to save your changes. If you have the Data Format set to PDF and not PDF (Multiple Pages), each page will save as a separate (not combined) PDF file.

Scan an item
- Turn the printer ON.
- Place the item you want to scan on the glass surface. To scan multiple documents, use the ADF (Auto Document Feeder).

- Select Auto to start the scan or Cancel if you need to stop it.
- Step 1: Open File Explorer and navigate to the folder containing the images that you want to combine into one PDF.
- Step 2: Select all the pictures that you want to combine into one PDF.
