How To Open Images As Layers
- Step 1: Select The "Load Files into Stack" Command. With Photoshop open on your screen, go up to the File menu, choose Scripts, and then choose Load Files into Stack. "
- Step 2: Select Your Images. This opens Photoshop's Load Layers dialog box:
- Step 3: Click OK To Load The Images Into Photoshop.
Open your logo image in Photoshop and copy it across to the photo you want to watermark. Drag it into position and resize it if necessary. Insert the logo into the picture to be watermarked. Select the logo's layer and change the blending mode to "Darken".
Save a photo in JPEG format
- Choose File > Save As
- Select JPEG as the file format type for the image.
- Enter the desired file name in the Save As field. Click Save.
- Choose the Image Options for the JPEG, including image quality and Format Options. Click OK.

It's not possible to add text. Adobe Draw doesn't have that functionality.
To fill a layer with color, create a new Draw Layer, then press-and-hold inside the canvas to fill it with color (it will change to the color of whatever brush you have selected). To use it as your background layer, press-hold-and-drag it just above the existing Background Layer.
Import the photo on a layer and make a new layer on top of it. Now start tracing the photo on the new layer. You can even add multiple layers on top of the photo layer if you want to do the tracing with more than one layer. After you're done you can just hide or delete the photo layer.
Sounds like the trick you're after is to open the Layers menu and switch off the background layer, which is the one at the very bottom of the stack. If you want to export the image with a transparent background instead of the white background (or whatever other colour you chose to make it), export the image as a PNG.
