For a typical tourist excursion to the Jungfraujoch, it would be reasonable to wear a jacket or fleese with a warm sweater or sweatshirt underneath. The only way to get to Jungfraujoch is by train.The last place where you can leave your car is Lauterbrunnen or Grindelwald, from where you have to take a train to Kleine Scheidegg. You have to switch trains at Kleine Scheidegg, where you hop on the luxury Jungfraujoch Railway train for the last part of the journey.

I personally prefer the Matterhorn to Jungfrau. Both are awesome but the Matterhorn and Zermatt are stunning. The glacier paradise is perhaps better at Junfrau and the train ride up to Jungfraujoch is great but the Matterhorn is one place that I would personally recommend everyone visit. You won't be disappointed.

General driving is not permitted beyond Lauterbrunnen or Grindelwald, only people permitted are the local residents or essential services (construction, maintenance etc) so you would have to park at either of these 2 locations and catch a train from there to Kleine-Scheidegg where you change onto Jungfrau rail.

It is beautiful. over a year ago. Ever half an hour there is a train from wengen starting 7.20 in the morning - it takes about 1 hour and 40 min to reach jungfrau - with one change . Earlier you go in the morning better it is .

Virtually all of the hiking and great scenery is in the mountain villages and in late May any nitelife will probably be in Interlaken. Grindelwald may be the best compromise. It's the largest of the villages, has the most hotels, etc and would be your best bet for some after hour activities.
