To find the key you need to go through a dark room, then to the left, through the illuminated part. Then turn into the room on the right. Take a battery from there and go to the next room with an illuminated desk. Jump on it and get back to the more friendly part of the compound.
After Miles finally disables the now aged (due to his painful conditions) Billy's life support, the Walrider now without a human host, quickly takes possession of Miles who went through and witnessed the horrors of the asylum first hand, the perfect host. After trying to leave, Miles is shot by Dr.
The male medical ward is located adjacent to the children's ward on the first floor of the hospital building and is managed by the same team of nurses as the paediatric ward. It's made up of two wards, medical and emergency, with each ward containing four beds.
The second valve is in the room on the other side, so to the left from where you came.

To run, you simply have to click in L3, click in LS, or hold Shift. Do note that running will most certainly make more noise than simply walking or crouching.
To do so, simply hold L1, LB, or Tab. Holding the button will turn the view 180 degrees, allowing you to see directly behind you. You may notice something useful for your next chase, or pick up habits of certain enemies that are in pursuit (which can help if you happen to die).
You can see a bar representing your camera's battery in the upper right-hand corner of the screen when in use. It will turn red once it starts getting low, and when it's about to be depleted you'll receive a prompt to press Triangle, Y, or R to change the battery (as long as you have one).
Simply pressing the R button brings up the camcorder and pressing in the right stick switches it to night vision. Making sure to not burn through all your batteries is important, but fortunately plenty can be found around the asylum.
Pull up your camera by pressing R1, RB, or RMB, then press R3, RS (which is the right thumbstick on either a DualShock 4 or an Xbox controller), or F. When triggered, night vision will light up the world and give everything a ghastly, green glow.
Outlast 2: How to Crouch
- Crouching is your means of hiding out in the open in Outlast 2.
- To crouch, simply press Circle, B, or CTRL.
- Crouching also slows you down, which in turn lowers the amount of noise you make while moving about in Outlast 2.
