(CNN) Apple announced on Monday that it would phase out iTunes on its upcoming operating system in favor of three new apps: Music, TV and Podcasts. Though iTunes as we know it will be no more, you don't have to worry about losing those iTunes playlists you made back in the summer of 2006.
Apple is retiring the Mac version of its nearly 20-year-old music listening and library app, the company announced Monday at WWDC, its annual conference for software developers. With the upcoming version of MacOS, called Catalina, iTunes will be replaced with three separate apps for music, podcasts and shows or movies.
On your MacOpen the Apple TV app, then go to Watch Now, Movies, TV Shows, or Kids at the top of the screen. Or go to Search in the upper-right corner to find a movie or TV show. When you want to buy something: Click a movie or TV show.
To manually install iTunes onto a Mac or manually upgrade the version you have, start at the Apple Web site.

Look in iTunes Preferences and see if Show iTunes in the Cloud Purchases is enabled to show them. Just open iTunes Preferences by clicking on the drop down menu. You can also check in the iTunes Store to download those TV shows and Movies that are available to be downloaded again.
Purchases in the iTunes Store are linked to the Apple ID that made the purchase. Verify that the account for the iTunes and App Store has the correct/matching Apple ID account information. Try searching for that title. It should show a Play button instead of a Buy button.
