Checking the Ink Status with the LCD on the Machine
- Make sure that the power is turned on, and press the MENU button.
- Select Setup, then press the OK button. The setup menu screen will appear.
- Select Display remaining ink level, then press the OK button.
For the Device status screen, press [System Monitor] (B) to display the System Monitor screen, then press [Device]. The Device status screen enables you to check the following information: Press [Consumable] (C) to display the remaining toner.
Check ink level with the ink tank indicator on the front of the printer. When ink reaches the upper limit line (A), ink is full. When ink is near the lower limit line (B), ink is running low. Refill the ink tank.

Next, reset the cartridge ink counter:
- Unplug the power and the USB cables from the printer.
- Open the cartridge door and hold down the power button.
- Reconnect the power cables while still holding down the power button.
- Close the cartridge door and release the power button. The ink cartridge is now reset.
