From Internet Options, click the Security tab and select Trusted Sites. Click Custom Level, and under Miscellaneous, click Disable in front of the Pop-Up Blocker option.
In Internet Explorer go to:
- Tools -> Internet Options.
- Security Tab.
- Click on Restricted Sites.
- Click the Sites button.
- Type in a URL you want to block and click the Add button. I used *.stackoverflow.com.
- Close.
- Apply/OK.
Method 1: Using Supervised User
- Open Google Chrome. Go to Settings using the three dots menu on the top-right near the address bar.
- Then under “People” you will find “Manage Other People”
- Now click on “Add Person” and fill out the name of the new user.
- Add the list of websites that you want to block.
In Internet Explorer, click Tools, click Internet Options, and then click the Security tab. In the Select a Web content zone to specify its current security settings box, click Trusted Sites, and then click Sites.
IE has many significant security features and enterprise options that cannot be easily discounted. Unfortunately for its many users, IE's dominance and complexity have made it the browser to attack. IE is also the only browser natively vulnerable to ActiveX control exploits.
The site will use its settings instead of the default settings.
- On your Android phone or tablet, open the Chrome app .
- Go to a website.
- To the right of the address bar, tap More Info .
- Tap Site settings.
- To make a change, under "Permissions," tap a setting.
Sign into your Google account and then click your URL search bar at the top of the screen.
- Google the words "block site extension."
- Click the "Block Site - Website Blocker for Chrome™ - Google Chrome" link, which will likely be the first or second hit.
- Click the blue box at the top of the screen reading "ADD TO CHROME."
Block or allow a site
- Open the Family Link app .
- Select your child.
- On the "Settings" card, tap Manage settings Filters on Google Chrome Manage sites. Approved or Blocked.
- In the bottom right corner, tap Add an exception .
- Add a website (like www.google.com ) or domain (like google ).
- In the top left, tap Close .
From Internet Explorer, select the Tools menu, then the Options In the Internet Options dialog, select the Advanced tab Scroll down until you see the Security options. Enable the checkbox "Allow active content to run in files on My Computer".
To set controls:
- Open Internet Explorer.
- Select “Tools” from the toolbar.
- Select “Internet Options”
- Choose the “Content” tab.
- Click “Enable”
- Adjust the slider to select the level you deem appropriate for your child.
- Save changes.
How to Block Websites on Chrome Android (Mobile)
- Open the Google Play Store and install the "BlockSite" app.
- Open the downloaded BlockSite app.
- "Enable" the app in your phone's settings to allow the app to block websites.
- Tap the green "+" icon to block your first website or app.
Type 127.0. 0.1, tap the spacebar once, and then type the address of a website you want to block. For example, to block all traffic from YouTube, type 127.0. 0.1 on this line.
There is no limit in regard to the number of websites you can block. Simply type the sequence 127.0. 0.1 followed by the web site's address, press Enter to go to the next row, and type a new sequence. Save and close the Notepad hosts file.
Microsoft Internet Explorer
- Launch Internet Explorer 11 and click on the cog icon to open the program's main menu. Select Internet Options.
- Open the Privacy tab. Untick the check box next to Turn on Pop-Up Blocker and save your new settings by clicking on Apply.
How to Whitelist Websites in Microsoft Internet Explorer
- Click the "Internet Explorer" icon on the Windows taskbar.
- Press the "Tools" icon resembling a gear and choose "Internet Options."
- Select the "Security" tab, and then click the "Trusted Sites" icon marked by a large green check symbol.

Blocking an IP address or a domain name
- Click IP Blocker under Security in cPanel.
- Under Add an IP or Range enter the IP address or range, or domain name. Make sure you have entered the IP address or domain name in the proper format.
- When ready, click Add to block that IP address, range or domain name to access your website.
Turn SafeSearch on or off
- Go to Search Settings.
- Under "SafeSearch filters," check or uncheck the box next to "Turn on SafeSearch."
- At the bottom of the page, select Save.
