The synchronization issues folders contain logs and items that Microsoft Outlook has been unable to synchronize with your email or SharePoint servers. Having messages in these folders is a normal function of Outlook as they are error checking mechanisms that the program uses to sync your email to email services.
Update all Outlook folders:
- Open the Send/Receive tab.
- Hit the Send/Receive All folders button (or simply hit F9).
Now, click the View tab > Change View, and then click Apply Current View to Other Mail Folders on the View tab. In the Apply View dialog box, tick the checkbox for 'mailboxes and their subfolders' option. Also, tick the checkbox for 'Apply View to subfolders', and then click the OK button.
Sometimes due to poor internet connectivity and other reasons the content and folders in Outlook do not get updated automatically. To update it manually, you need to click on the Send/Receive tab on the top of the Outlook screen and click on the Update folder option given there.
If you cannot see any emails at all in a folder, check that you have not maximized the message preview (so the message list pane is hidden). To do this, click View ? Preview ? Show Message Preview. Look in the Junk folder.
