UPS does not accept shipments of beer or alcohol for delivery to consumers. UPS accepts shipments of beer or alcohol only among and between selected states. The ability to ship wine depends upon the nature of the shipper's license to sell wine and the laws of the destination states.
UPS sends a shipment notification email to the recipient informing them when the Spirits shipment will be delivered so that an adult at least 21 years of age can be available to complete the delivery. Quantum View Notify is provided at no additional charge.
Only FedEx-approved, licensed alcohol shippers that have entered into a FedEx Alcohol Shipping Agreement may ship alcohol via FedEx services. Consumers may not ship alcohol of any type via FedEx services.

From today, Royal Mail customers will be able to send small quantities of toiletries medicinal aerosols, nail varnishes, fragrances and alcohol through the post to UK addresses. Customers will also be able to post electronic items sent with or containing lithium batteries within the UK.

To ship hand sanitizers including wipes, you must use USPS Retail Ground, Parcel Select, or Parcel Select Lightweight. Most hand sanitizers, including wipes, contain alcohol and are flammable in nature and are therefore handled and shipped as hazardous mater (HAZMAT) in the US Mail™.
Nonflammable, nonhazardous liquids can be sent via USPS, if sealed inside a waterproof container. A recently proposed rule change states that mailers must mark the outer container of a mailpiece containing liquid to indicate the nature of the contents, and include orientation arrows.
It is perfectly legal to send money in the post, as long as the post office of the destination country is happy to accept cash sent this way. But Royal Mail stresses that cash and other valuables should not be sent in the ordinary mail. These services are available at all post offices across the UK.
If you're sending valuables, money or jewellery in the post, you should use Royal Mail Special Delivery Guaranteed®. Money should be packaged securely and shouldn't be visible from the outside. Don't indicate anywhere on the packaging that money is enclosed.

Six states—Florida, Hawaii, Kentucky, Nebraska, New Hampshire and Rhode Island—and the District of Columbia authorize the direct shipment of all spirits as specified. Eight states allow the direct shipment of beer and wine as specified: Delaware, Massachusetts, Montana, North Dakota, Ohio, Oregon, Vermont and Virginia.

Mailing wine as a gift isn't technically legal anywhere in the United States, as it's illegal to send alcohol in any form through the U.S. mail. Wine must be shipped through commercial carriers. Both UPS and FedEx will ship alcohol in certain circumstances.
Best options for shipping wine
- Order directly from a winery (ideally in the same state). If your recipient loves a certain wine, call the winery directly to see if they can ship to them.
- Use an online wine retailer.
- Join a wine club.
The regulations for U.S. flights limit alcohol in checked luggage that exceeds 24 percent ABV to five liters. Beer doesn't fall into this range, so the only limit is the 50-pound maximum on weight per passenger – and even that is negotiable if you're willing to pay an additional fee.
