Airtel Money, the mobile wallet from the successful and popular telecom company Airtel, allows you to use your smartphone as an electronic wallet to make and receive payments. Originally launched in 2012, the app offers customers with an efficient alternative to cash transactions.
Both Airtel and non-Airtel customers can open a savings account with Airtel Payments Bank. Non-Airtel customers can access Airtel Payments Bank's services by dialing this number- 8800688006. For Airtel customers, the account number will same as their mobile number.
To check your Airtel money balance on your mobile phone
- Dial *400# (toll free number) from your registered mobile number.
- Then select option 7 (My account)
- Presently select 1 (to check balance) or 2 (for mini statement)
- Your current Airtel money account balance will be appeared on the screen.
Shop or make payments: Instead of cash, pay over-the-counter merchants such as grocery stores and chemists have started using Airtel Money. You can shop online while sitting at home and make payments using your Airtel Wallet. You can also book movie tickets while sitting in the comfort of your home.
The Airtel payment bank is safe as the government has taken steps in order to make your deposits safe. These are: Banks are required to deposit 75% of deposit on government securities. they are not allowed to lend.
Airtel Wallet is used for the recharges,bill payment, Shopping on merchant sites. Airtel Savings Account is used for the recharges,bill payments , shopping and just like our Physical Debit/Credit Card.
You can unfreeze your account by doing KYC with Airtel payment bank. The Bank has the right to freeze the Bank Account if it is suspected that operations in a Customer's Bank Account are being carried out in disproportion to his/her profile and/or source of funds are not known to the Bank.
To open or access your Airtel Payments Bank Savings bank account, visit your nearest banking point. You can also access your Airtel Payments Bank account on the My Airtel App.
