Day Travelcard (paper ticket) daily cost for unlimited journeys for adults, after 9:30am Monday to Friday: Zones 1 to 4 – £13.90. Zones 1 to 6 – £19.60.
You can now use your contactless payment card or compatible mobile device on most National Rail services in the Oyster Pay As You Go (PAYG) area where contactless payments are accepted, as well as the bus, Tube, London Trams, DLR, TfL Rail and London Overground.
Within London, all London Underground, National Rail, London Overground, TfL Rail and Docklands Light Railway stations are assigned to six fare zones. Fare zone 1 covers the central area and fare zones 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 form concentric rings around it.
Railcards do not give discounts on Season tickets. Remember, not every ticket type is available for every journey that you might want to make, so it's always best to check before booking.
To stress, it's only worthwhile over a Two Together Railcard if you require more flexibility around how many people can travel. On any trip 1 to 4 adults and up to 4 children can travel on the card. - Buy tickets as far in advance as possible to get the cheapest fares.
A general rule of thumb is that Off-Peak will begin at 09:30 Mondays to Fridays in cities and large towns, and 09:00 across the rest of the network. Weekends and Bank Holidays are Off-Peak all day.
Your National Railcard gives you discounts on the Tube, DLR, London Overground, TfL Rail and National Rail services.
Travelcards. You can buy Day Travelcards (paper ticket): From ticket machines at Tube, DLR, London Overground, TfL Rail and National Rail stations. From ticket offices at London Overground, TfL Rail and National Rail stations.
You can buy Network Railcard discounted tickets for travel any time on weekends and public holidays or from 10:00am Monday to Friday. You may be able to start your journey a little earlier than 10:00am, see the time restriction easements section for details or check at your local station.
As a general rule a Travelcard is more expensive than an Oyster card or Contactless payment card. The exception is if you make 3 or more journeys for 6 days or more within a 7 day period. Otherwise an Oyster on a Pay As You Go basis or a Contactless payment card is cheaper.
Zone 1 covers all of Central London. Zone 2 encircles zone 1 and covers a large swathe of the inner London suburbs. The link below will show you a map which shows you which stations (Underground, DLR and National Rail) are in zones 1 and 2.
Free access to buses across all of London applies to any travelcard bought through us.
How much does a Visitor Oyster card cost? A Visitor Oyster card costs £5 (plus postage) and is pre-loaded with pay as you go credit for you to spend on travel. You can choose how much credit to add to your card: £10, £15, £20, £25, £30, £35, £40 or £50.
You can travel as often as you like on bus, Tube, tram, DLR, London Overground, TfL Rail and most National Rail services within the London travel fare zones with a Travelcard. They are valid for one day, 2 or 3 consecutive days or 7 days and are issued as paper tickets from the Visitor shop.

A Travelcard gives you unlimited travel at any time on bus, Tube, Tram, DLR, London Overground, TfL Rail and National Rail services in London.
It is in Travelcard Zone 2 and is 3 miles 36 chains (5.6 km) measured from London Bridge or 5 miles 13 chains (8.3 km) measured from London Victoria.
The Travelcards can be purchased at any tube station, tourist information stands, in the National Rail stations and also in certain newsagents. Depending on where you purchase the ticket, you will get it in one format or other.
Free travel at any time on Southern for Disabled Persons Freedom Pass holders, and after 9.00am Monday to Friday and at any time weekends and public holidays for Older Persons Freedom Pass holders.
Oyster on Southern servicesThe correct fare is automatically deducted from your card. You can use your Oyster card on all Southern trains within the London Fares Zones (zones 1-6) – as well as on buses, Tubes, Trams, The Docklands Light Railway, London Overground, TfL Rail and most National Rail services in London.
Contactless pay as you go (PAYG)Contactless payment cards can be used to travel on most National Rail services in London, as well as bus, Tube, tram, DLR, London Overground and TfL Rail. With contactless payment there is no need to top up or queue for tickets at the station.
Yes, you can break your journey while travelling with an Anytime Single or Return ticket. This means you can get off the train at any connecting stop and leave the station, before boarding a later train to complete your journey.
Yes, you can use your 60+ Oyster card in conjunction with a Gatwick to Z6B single ticket on Southern or Thameslink. You don't have to hop on/off anywhere and the train doesn't have to stop at the Z6B station which I believe is Coulsdon South on that route.
Anytime fares are fully flexible tickets, with no time restrictions on when you can travel. You can buy Anytime tickets any time before you travel and you can use your ticket to travel on any train. With an Anytime ticket you can also break your journey at stations along the route of travel.
The child-rate single fare with an 11-15 Zip Oyster is 85p (peak) or 75p (off-peak) for zones 1-6. Like the ordinary adult Oyster card, there's a daily cap – the maximum amount deducted from the card in one day.
Off-Peak tickets. Are you travelling after the morning rush hour? Save money on your journey when you buy an Off-Peak ticket. If you don't have to be somewhere during the busiest times of the day, this could be the perfect option for you.
Travelcard prices start at £13.90 for a central London 1 day Travelcard and go up to £67.70 for a 7 day Travelcard covering zones 1-6.
