Students should know about calculating cut-off marks. The total marks for every subject is 200. First, take your mathematics mark, divide it by 2, then you will get the marks for 100. Marks of physics and chemistry should be divided by 4, then you would get marks for 50 for each subject.
UPSC is for people who can analyse an issue well. TNPSC is for people who can easily mug up facts. Though UPSC also needs some mugging up skills, the higher part goes to analyzing issues and to frame a logical opinion.

Exam Pattern for
Group 1 Services in Andhra Pradesh is set by the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC).
Syllabus:
- History and Culture – 30 marks.
- Constitution, Social Justice and International Relations – 30 marks.
- Indian Economy and Andhra Pradesh Economy and Planning – 30 marks.

Every year Tamil Nadu PSC invites applications from Graduates for the prestigious Group-1 services through the common entrance examination. Recently TNPSC has updated the TNPSC Group 1 syllabus for both prelims and main examination.
PSTM certificate means Person Studied in Tamil Medium Certificate. TNPSC has introduced a reservation for aspirants who have studied in Tamil Medium. There is 20% reservation for PSTM certificate.
Education Qualification: The Qualification for the Group 1 Exam the candidate must have completed the Graduation/ Bachelor's Degree in relevant specialization from any recognized university or board with a minimum aggregate of marks. Nationality: A candidate must be an Indian citizen.
Unlike the UPSC Prelims, the TNPSC Group 1 Prelims Exam consists of only one paper and no negative marking.

TNPSC Group 2 Cut off 2018 - Preliminary Exam
Tamil Nadu Public service Commission has released the minimum qualifying marks of the preliminary exam of TNPSC Group 2. The preliminary exam is qualifying in nature. Candidates have to score equal to or above the minimum qualifying marks released by TNPSC i.e. 90.
