The Qualcomm Quick Charge was the first fast charging standard, widely used in Android phones including the Samsung Galaxy line; while the USB PD standard is relatively new and adopted by Google and Apple. Unlike the Qualcomm QC, it's used in tablets and laptops as well.
Unless there's some technical flaw with your battery or charger electronics, however, using a fast charger won't do your phone's battery any long-term damage. That's because during the first phase of charging, batteries can absorb a charge quickly without major negative effects on their long-term health.
Samsung is the biggest name in the
Android smartphone world.

Qualcomm's proprietary Quick Charge technology was once the default standard in the smartphone industry, as it popularized fast charging before USB Power Delivery. The latest 4.0+ revision of Quick Charge is compatible with Power Delivery, allowing for faster-charging speeds and a wider range of support.
Quick Charge 4 allows a device to be charged from empty to 50 percent in just 15 minutes while maintaining the plug-and-play ease of use of USB Type-C connectors. Quick Charge 4+ features all the benefits of Quick Charge 4 and more. In a device, this includes, Dual Charge, Battery Saver and charging thermals reduction.
But if your phone offers no visual or audible indication, then there's still a way to find out how fast it is charging. Head to your phone's app store and install Ampere. This useful app measures the incoming charging current and voltage, which you can use to calculate the wattage.
Go to Menu > Settings > Battery and look for the Fast cable charging option. If it's not enabled, make sure you tap on the toggle and turn it on. After this, plug in the phone with the original charger and see if Fast Charging is working properly now. If it doesn't, try restarting the phone and plug it in again.

Using a normal charger on a phone that has fast charging will do nothing harmful . It will take longer to charge and the slower charging will be good for the battery . It will produce less heat during charging . Heat and batteries don't mix well .
Nope. Quick Charge 3.0 is designed specifically to work with the same ~2.0A limits imposed by standard, everyday USB 2.0 cables. For the very highest currents, yes, you do need a special “intelligent” cable that can tell the devices at both ends that it can stand the high current.
One of the quickest and easiest ways to measure how fast your smartphone is charging or discharging is by using the Ampere app, which is available free through the Android Play Store. Once the app is installed, simply fire it up and it should immediately measure the rate of charge.
Quick Charge 3.0 is implemented the same way previous versions were, and all QC 3.0 equipment is fully backwards compatible with Quick Charge 2.0 and Quick Charge 1.0 devices. QC 3.0 supports USB Type-A, USB Type-C and micro USB, as well as proprietary connections.
This smartphone contains a USB Type-C port. To connect other types of USB cables or devices, the following connectors are provided in box: USB to USB Type-C.
Sometimes, a poorly coded app may interfere with how Android works. If the charging problem occured right after you installed a new app, there's a chance it may be the cause. To see if one of the installed apps is causing the problem, restart your Note8 to safe mode, then see if fast charging works.

This Samsung wall charger with 45 Watt Super Fast Charge capability uses Power Delivery (PD) to provide the most efficient charge possible. Any PD device, including Galaxy Note10+, can charge at up to 45W. Other USB-C devices rates will vary.
The Note 8 also dials back on rapid charging. It's still a 'Fast Charging' device, but during our tests it took longer (115 mins) to charge with the included USB-C cable. And, remember, it has a smaller battery so it technically should be faster than S8 Plus (101 mins) and Note 7 (98 mins) charge times.
USB-C features a new, smaller connector shape that's reversible so it's easier to plug in. USB-C cables can carry significantly more power, so they can be used to charge larger devices like laptops. They also offer up to double the transfer speed of USB 3 at 10 Gbps.
