Hi Umesh, To check the sync progress and error, you many check the OneDrive sync client app on the system tray. Click the app and you'll see the file which are synced, removed or if there's any sync error.
The files that you choose to sync will be automatically updated between your computer and the cloud. On the cloud, your files serve as a backup, as well as a way for you to access them from your phone, tablet, or PC. Files that aren't synced live only on OneDrive.
You can now visit OneDrive online and delete all the files you like, and they will not be deleted from your PC. Caveat: After I unlink OneDrive, I always rename the OneDrive folder to something else. Even calling it “Old-OneDrive” will do.
Find shared folders in your OneDrive
- Select the OneDrive cloud icon.
- Select. Help & Settings > Settings.
- On the Account tab, select Choose folders, then check the boxes of the folders you want to sync.
The OneDrive sync client is included with every edition of Windows 10, allowing you to keep a local copy of files and folders stored in either OneDrive or OneDrive for Business. By default, your files are stored in a top-level folder in your user profile.
Any file, anywhere, always protected. Get Word, Excel, and PowerPoint plus 1 TB of OneDrive storage to back up and protect your files. If you don't want to sync all of your folders in OneDrive to your computer, you can specify which folders you'd like to sync.
Sync OneDrive to your computer
- Select Start, type OneDrive, and then select OneDrive.
- Sign in to OneDrive with the account you want to sync and finish setting up. Your OneDrive files will start syncing to your computer.
Support for the previous OneDrive for Business sync app (Groove.exe) will end on January 11, 2021. On February 1, 2021, users will no longer be able to sync OneDrive or SharePoint files in Microsoft 365 by using Groove.exe. Groove.exe will continue to work only for files in SharePoint Server.
- Click or tap the OneDrive icon in the taskbar or notification area. Tips: If you don't see the OneDrive icon, OneDrive might not be running. On a PC, go to Start, type OneDrive in the search box, and then click OneDrive in the search results.
- Select. Help & Settings then Settings from the menu.
Select the arrow next to OneDrive and choose This PC. Browse to the files you want to move, and then swipe down on them or right-click them to select them. Select Cut. Select the arrow next to This PC and choose OneDrive to browse to a folder in your OneDrive.
Synchronization problems in OneDrive for Business

- Step 2: check the file name. OneDrive for Business doesn't support certain characters in a file name.
- Step 3: check the file size.
- Step 4: reset the sync connection.
- Step 5: stop and restart the sync.
- Step 6: Consult the OneDrive for Business manual.
In Windows 10, OneDrive is the default save location for your files and documents. This means new documents or files are automatically saved to OneDrive unless you opt to save them to a different location on your PC.
OneDrive can't upload this fileYou might get this message for one of these reasons: There was a problem with OneDrive. Try to upload the file again. The connection to OneDrive was lost during the file transfer, or you weren't signed in to OneDrive.
Set up PC folder backupHelp & Settings > Settings, then Backup > Manage backup. In the Back up your folders dialog, make sure the folders that you want to back up are selected. Select Start backup. You can close the dialog box while your files sync to OneDrive.
If you still cannot find your filesIt may be that a file has not yet synced. Files saved with Office 2016 upload to OneDrive first, and then sync with your local PC. If you're having trouble syncing Office files, the Office Upload cache system may be interfering with OneDrive sync.
If you cannot see any file causing the Pending status, it could be that the file causing the sync error is a Hidden file. If there are no Hidden files in the folder, follow these steps: Create a new folder. Note that empty folders may show Sync pending until you put a file into it.
If OneDrive shows “Processing changes" for a long time, it could be because you have an online file open, lots of files stuck in a queue, or a very large file syncing. Mark the file as "Always Keep on this device". You're syncing a lot of files. This can be resolved by pausing and then resuming your sync.
Pause and RestartThe first thing you should try is right-clicking the OneDrive for Business system tray icon, and pausing the sync. Then resume the sync, and let it try to resolve itself. This action will force SharePoint to re-examine the files it needs to synchronize.
