Five Steps to California Massage Certification

To do so, you need you to enroll in a massage school and complete at least 500 hours of training. The hours cover all the core areas with massage theory and practice taking the most time as you will need to complete 265 hours of instruction.

Licenses generally regulate the practice of massage therapy itself, not the title of the practitioner. In license states, certification generally refers to having completed state approved education and received a certificate, not being legally able to perform massage.
