What devices are compatible with Sky Go? Loads. You can get it on PCs, Macs, laptops, tablets, iPhones, Android devices (4.0 and above), games consoles (with Sky Go Extra), and even some Smart TVs and streaming sticks.
First, you'll need to:
- Connect your computer to the television using HDMI cable.
- Ensure you have a Sky Go app on your TV and Wi-Fi is working fine.
- While on the Sky Go app, start watching your content and choose to mirror your screen.
- Stream a video, and the content on your laptop screen will cast on your television.
When you download a programme with Sky Go Desktop onto your computer, they will be stored in a folder labelled Sky Go. If you are using a Windows-based computer, this will be found in the My Videos folder. If you are using a Mac, it will be located in the Movies folder.
Download the Sky Go app, either from Google Play Store or Huawei's AppGallery.
- Select a programme to watch on the Sky Go app and tap the Play button.
- You'll then be asked to sign in with your Sky iD (if you've forgotten your details, you'll have the option to retrieve or reset them below).
Unable to load configuration. Please ensure your device has an active network connection and try again. If this problem persists go to sky.com/skyqapphelp for help. Meanwgile you can still watch programmes you have downloaded to your device. (Error code: 200)
A lack of a Sky Go app on smart TVs doesn't help the situation either. Instead, you'll need to grab your laptop and download Sky Go if you haven't already. The next step is to check what connections your laptop has and, fingers crossed, it has an HDMI port and you've got a handy HDMI cable lying around.
There is a download icon ( ) to the right of the programme title, simply tap the icon then download on the next screen. If you've reached the limit of downloads on your device, you'll get a message to let you know of this but the item will remain in your download queue.
How do I sign in to Sky Go?
- Go to the Sky Go home page.
- At the top right-hand corner of the page, click Sign In if you already have My Account.
- If you don't have My Account yet, click Register and fill in the required fields.
- You'll receive an activation email in your inbox (if it's not in your Inbox, check your Junk/Spam email folder)
Official Sky Go App is now available for download from Windows Store. Sky Go is available to all Sky TV customers at no extra cost on your compatible mobile, laptop or tablet with a 3G, 4G or WiFi connection.
Set up Sky Go app on your Android device
- Select a programme to watch on the Sky Go app and tap the Play button.
- You'll then be asked to sign in with your Sky iD (if you've forgotten your details, you'll have the option to retrieve or reset them below).
- Once signed in, the programme will start to play and your Android device will then be added.
Set up Sky Go app on your computer or laptopMake sure your device is compatible, you'll need to meet these minimum specifications: Operating System: Windows 7 (with Aero theme enable), 8.1 or 10. Processor: Intel Core i3-8130U – or equivalent AMD.
Make sure the ringer mute button on the device is turned off. You'll need to make sure you're running the latest version of the Sky Go app. Head to your app store. The account is already linked to another email address: You'll need to reset the password and/or change the password.
Why the Sky Go app won't open on FirestickUninstall the Sky Go app, download the latest APK, and install the app again. If this does not solve your problem, open the setting on your Firestick and head over to “Application”, then find the Sky Go app and open it.

How can Users Fix Sky Go?
- A lot of users have said they've fixed Sky Go by thoroughly removing CiscoVideoGuard and reinstalling Sky Go.
- Input 'appwiz.
- First, select CiscoVideoGuard; and press the Uninstall button.
- Select the Yes option.
- After uninstalling CiscoVideoGuard, select SkyGo and click Uninstall.
Now TV now supports Full HD streaming! Full HD (1080p) streaming for all content on Sky Go please.
Sky Go may not be working on your Mac for the following reasons: Software or operating system needs updating. A new operating system is not compatible with the Sky Go app. A security block or firewall is in use, disabling the Sky Go app from being downloaded/working.
Delete the Sky Go application
- Open the Sky Go Application.
- Right click on the Sky Go app in the Dock and choose “Show in finder”
- Right click on the Sky Go app in the Finder window and click on “Move to trash”
Sky Go helpYou can register up to 6 devices and when you register a 7th it will auto-swap with your least used device. To connect the Sky Go app to someone else's Sky Q box so you can watch their channels, recordings and downloads: Open the Sky Go app on your device and it'll automatically search for a Sky Q box.
Once you have one primary account, you can register up to nine additional accounts for other members of your family, using the same process. All of the accounts are tied together and the device limit is your account, not per Sky iD anymore (you used to be able to add up to 20 devices by creating 10 Sky iDs).
Sky Movies customers can now download films to watch offline, on a smartphone or tablet - without the need for a broadband connection, 3G, 4G or Wi-Fi. Customers can sign up for Sky Go Extra on Sky's website, then the next time they open the Sky Go app, they'll be able to download content and register more devices.
Sky Go vs Sky Go ExtraSky also has an upgraded version of Sky Go called Sky Go Extra. With Sky Go Extra, you can download programmes to watch offline on up to four devices, including games consoles. This effectively gives you multiroom functionality without needing to get a Sky Q Mini box.
How to watch Sky Go abroad with a VPN
- First, sign up for one of the VPNs listed below.
- Download and install the VPN software on your device or configure your router to use the VPN.
- Run the VPN, choose a server in the UK, and connect.
- Clear your cookies and refresh the page with the video you want to watch.
