Multi-day Universal Orlando tickets are cheaper than comparable Walt Disney World tickets, but if you're considering the trip from the perspective of re-allocating some days away from Walt Disney World to Universal Orlando, it's good to know that this cost differential is significant.
In 2018, Universal theme parks generated $5.7 billion, while Disney brought in $20.3 billion.
The only way to see the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in one day is to have the park to park pass. If you don't, you're going to miss one of the parks, its that simple. Mainly, because you will need a park to park ticket to ride the train between Hogsmeade Station and Kings Cross Station.
Universal Studios is a great place for children and adults to enjoy although it is a bit pricey. Depending on the age of any children that are going on the trip, I would suggest Magic Kingdom for younger ages and Universal's Islands of Adventure for older kids.
Is Universal in Orlando Fat-Friendly? This is very easy: NOPE! Universal Studios markets itself as more of a “grown up” theme park. But if you're not, or you are a size where fitting into rollercoaster restraints is sometimes (or always) a problem, Universal is going to be tough for you.
Disney TipsAverage Uber cost from Walt Disney World to Universal Orlando's drop-off point is $18-20 per trip. Average wait for a pick-up at Walt Disney World is 4-8 minutes.

If you are a roller coaster fanatic, then Universal is the better option. While Hollywood Studios has fan favorite coasters like Slinky Dog Dash and Rock 'n' Roller Coaster, that's all they have in the way of these thrill rides. Universal Studios has four different coaster rides of varying levels.

Universal Orlando has three stunning on-site hotels that offer complimentary Express access: Royal Pacific Resort, Hard Rock Hotel, and Portofino Bay Hotel. For any number of reasons, many guests visiting Universal's parks don't consider the option of staying on-site at one of these properties, but they should!
First of all, complimentary Universal Express Unlimited ride passes (as the resort calls its skip-the-lines program) are only available as a benefit at Universal's three Premier hotels: Portofino Bay, Hard Rock Hotel, and Royal Pacific Resort. Hotel guests would still have to purchase park tickets.
Universal Express Pass prices range from $40 for an IOA-only single-use pass in slow season (USF-only passes start at $60), to $150 for a two-park Unlimited pass on a holiday; the top-tier passes are significantly cheaper when bundled with a park-to-park multiday pass.

Conclusion. If you're visiting the parks during a multi-day vacation, it might be worth it to buy an Express pass for one day. That way, you can experience all of the rides you want to, even riding your favorites multiple times.
Universal allows on-site hotel guests to pool hop to other Universal on-site hotels. The hotel pool that appeals most to us is at Cabana Bay Beach Resort, with its large lazy river and water slide. It doesn't have the Universal Express Pass we want, but it's nice to know we don't have to stay there to use the pool.
The Portofino is one of three current onsite hotels at Universal, along with the Loews Royal Pacific Resort and the Hard Rock Hotel. There is also the fact that all three hotels are within walking distance (with very lushly themed walkways) to Universal Studios Florida, Islands of Adventure, and Universal CityWalk.

The Difference between Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure and Volcano Bay. The easiest way to tell the difference is that Universal Studios is based more on movies and TV shows, whereas Islands of Adventure is where the fantasy and thrill rides are.
One day is enough time to plan to spend at the park. Pay for the VIP Experience, if you can- It makes for a special and memorable experience at the Park plus you don't waste a lot of your day waiting in lines.
over a year ago. You can easily walk to Citywalk from both Universal park and Islands of Adventure park.
Since the two Potter-themed lands are located in two separate parks, Universal requires all train passengers to have park-to-park passes. Depending of the number of days purchased for a one-park-per-day ticket, the additional cost to upgrade to a park-to-park pass ranges from $55 to $70 (prices valid October 2019).
Universal Studios is not a very large theme park and it can easily be seen in one day; however, if you are visiting during the high season you might want to be cautious and plan to spend two days at the theme park.
If you've been to Universal before and just want to do all your favorites, one day with the Express Pass can be enough. I recommend two days to fully enjoy the parks. Allows you to ride the attractions you liked the most a second time and enjoy shows and any good restaurants.
