If your slime gets in contact with water, then there is an immense possibility that it would become foggy. Encroachment of water into the slime will cause air and bubbles which would cause the slime to be cloudy. If you are struggling with a foggy slime, another major cause could be dirty utensils.
- BORAX POWDER. Borax powder is the most widely known of the slime activators and contains borax or sodium tetraborate.
- SALINE SOLUTION. This is our number one favorite on the slime activator list because it makes an awesome stretchy slime.
- LIQUID STARCH.

Steps
- Add a bit of water. Sounds too simple, right?
- Mix in some hand sanitizer or antibacterial gel. Another way to soften slime is to add a drop or two of hand sanitizer.
- Moisten it with lotion. Lotion keeps your skin nice and soft, and it can do the same for your slime.
- Add more glue.
CLEAR GLUE SLIME RECIPE
- 1/2 cup Elmer's Washable PVAClear Glue.
- 1/2 cup water to mix with glue and 1/2 cup of warm water to mix with the borax powder.

If your soapy liquid of choice has one of these chemicals in its long list of ingredients, it should make a slime when you add just the right amount of salt to it. This gives the micelles a certain charge density on its outer surface, which can be affected by the addition of salt.
If you prefer to use something instead of borax as an activator, try using liquid starch or contact lens solution and baking soda.

Basic fluffy slime recipe
- Put 1/2 cup shampoo and 1/4 cup of cornstarch in a bowl.
- Mix well.
- Add 3 drops of food coloring (optional).
- Add 1 tablespoon of water and stir. Slowly add 5 more tablespoons of water, stirring well after each one.
- Knead the slime for around 5 minutes.
Mix together 1 cup (236.58 mL) of school glue and 1 tbsp (14 g) of baking soda. Pour 1 cup (236.58 mL) of school glue into any kind of bowl. Add 1 tbsp (14 g) of baking soda and mix it in thoroughly using a metal spoon. This recipe creates slime that has a consistency similar to slime made using Borax.

- Heat the mixture until it boils and thickens. If it is too thick, you can add a bit more water.
- Remove from heat. Add coloring if desired.
