You will need a SIM card to set up your iPhone as a Wi-Fi-only device, but only temporarily. After that, it'll work SIM-free. Note that after rebooting the device, you may get the notification to insert a SIM card; however, this message is easily dismissible using the "Cancel" button in the alert.
If the website you are trying to use can send the OTP to an email address, you could use that. Also, if your phone company has a website where you can access SMS messages, you could use that. Other than that, you will have to go to your phone company and get a new SIM card so that you can get SMS messages.
Below are the steps on how to access text messages online:
- Install MySMS on your mobile device.
- Go to MySMS web page.
- Register the app with your telephone number. Then you can find all your messages on the webpage.
If someone tries to send you a text message when you don't have service, will the message fail, or do you get it once you have reception again? You'll get it when you have service again, and even then, you may not get it until a couple of hours later.

If you see “Use your Apple ID for iMessage,” tap it and sign in with the same Apple ID that you use on your Mac, iPad, and iPod touch.You can turn iMessage back on when you have your new sim card in the phone. There are two workarounds: 1) Put your old sim card into another iPhone and have both registered to the same Apple ID. You will then be able to get iMessages from both numbers.
You can send pictures or text messages through iMessage to any iOS or Mac device for free. However, the iMessage is not free when you send messages to a different platform such as Android.
iPhone - If connected to WiFi, group text and picture/video messages can only be sent to other Apple devices (iPhone, iPad, Mac, etc.) using iMessage. If you do not have cellular data (and are not connected to WiFi) and have iMessage turned on, normal text messages will not be able to send or receive.
No matter your SIM card is data or cellular, or even you don't have SIM card, you can use facetime as long as your device can connect to Internet.

Every SIM card has a unique number called an “ICCID” that's specific to you and your wireless account. That's why it's best practice to remove and dispose of your old SIM card before selling it. The new user can attain a new one from their carrier in-store or online.
Android: Save Pictures From Phone
