'Downton Abbey' is leaving Amazon Prime on July 1, 2020.For all these years, Downton Abbey has had a home on Amazon Prime. Once the contract period with the original creator is over Amazon Prime will remove that content from their platform.

Universal Pictures Home Entertainment has announced home release dates for Downton Abbey, the hit movie based on the celebrated PBS TV series. The film, which earned $94.5 million in North American movie theaters, will be available digitally Nov. 26, and on Blu-ray Disc, DVD and on demand on Dec. 17, the studio said.

The Downton Abbey movie is not a true story, but it is inspired by real life events. Writer Julian Fellowes has said he needed a central story that would bind everyone together for the film, and he just so happened to be reading about a trip King George took with his wife in 1912 to Wentworth Woodhouse in Yorkshire.
Mary (Michelle Dockery), the family's eldest daughter, finally found love again years after the tragic death of her husband, Matthew. Given that Matthew died in a car crash, Mary agreed to marry Henry Talbot (Matthew Goode) provided he give up his dangerous racecar driving profession and open a car shop instead.
