VAT- Not applicable, as VAT is only for goods, not services. GST- The paid GST on services adds up to total input GST comparable to total output GST, which may be on goods sold. Finally the tax payer gets the input credit on tax for the services availed by the products you purchased.
The details on how to get a refund vary per country, but generally you'll need to follow these basic steps:

You can claim a refund if: Purchased goods have been made within 60 days of departure. As the travelling passenger, you have paid for the goods. Present an original copy of the tax invoice to the ABF officers.

In several countries VAT or GST are refunded to the tourists for purchases made beyond a prescribed threshold. The law has defined the term 'tourist' as a person not normally resident in India, who enters India for a stay of not more than six months for legitimate non-immigrant purposes.

Time Limit for Filing GST Refund Request
Under GST, all GST refund claims must be filed within 2 years from the relevant date. If the claim is in order, the refund has to be sanctioned within a period of 60 days from the date of receipt of the claim.Upon checking the TRS webpage, I note: Refunds to a credit card or to an Australian bank account will generally be paid within 60 days. Refunds by cheque can take up to two months.
Steps:
- Login to GST portal.
- Select the Refund tab-> Application for Refund Option.
- Select the type of refund and Fill the necessary details and submit.
- Later take a print out along with the ARN number mentioned thereon.
- Submit this along with the applicable annexures to the respective Jurisdictional GST officer.
You will be refunded: The total GST (price you paid divided by 11), and/or. The total WET (14.5% of the price you paid for the wine)
