In the MCU, Stormbreaker is unequivocally “stronger†than Mjolnir. It was able to effortlessly cut thru Thanos. It deflected a blast from the Infinity Gauntlet. Eitri straight up proclaimed it was and called it a kings weapon.
Breathing is the reverse act of photosynthesis, turning sugar and oxygen into carbon dioxide and water. He had no trouble breathing while travelling between worlds in Thor 1 and 2.
And especially after Endgame, as now we know that Captain America is also worthy in the MCU like in the comics. So now
he also has the powers of Thor while wielding the Mjolnir. Hence, this make the fight even more interesting.
Thor and Captain America stats.
| Benchmark | Thor | Captain America |

Even in the Thor films of the MCU, when Hela shatters Mjolnir to pieces in Thor: Ragnorok, Thor reveals he is still capable of engaging in brief bouts of near-flight, executing gravity-defying, mid-air spins during fight scenes.
While Avengers: Infinity War does not explicitly state that Thor lost his powers in Ragnarok, there is substantial evidence within both movies that he has. Furthermore, Avengers: Infinity War establishes that latent Asgardian power can be accessed through their surviving weaponry.
As was demonstrated in several comics, Thor can indeed summon lightning without Mjolnir; the Hammer works as a vessel that elevates his powers, but as Odin put it nicely in the movie – Thor is not the God of Hammers, but the God of Thunder.
In the Thor comic Mighty Thor, written by Jason Aaron, Thor loses his powers once Nick Fury tells him something that makes him no longer worthy. Jane picks up Mjolnir in his place and defends Asgard against an invasion force. While simultaneously battling breast cancer back on Earth.
How high that strength level rises would vary in different comic books, but most classify Thor in the “Class-100†strength category, which means he can lift well over 100 tons without too much difficulty.
In the Marvel comics, Jane Foster is given Thor's powers during her battle with breast cancer when she attempts to lift Mjolnir, which results in her becoming The Mighty Thor.
Thor's weakness in endgame is not physical, it is majorly psychological. This was because he lost almost everything to Thanos and has been out of shape and the fighting business for 5 years.
Thor is most powerful when he can channel his powers through an enchanted, loyal weapon forged on Nidavellir, like the hammer, Mjolnir, or the ax, Stormbreaker. But as the God of Thunder, he can also summon and harness pure lightning. Power scale: 20.
As we've explored in the past, the MCU basically ignored Thor's entire mythology for the sake of a more comedic reboot in Thor: Ragnarok. When Mjolnir was destroyed in the comics, Jane lost her powers completely and returned to normal human physiology.
Why didn't Thor use his magical belt of strength instead of making a new weapon to fight Thanos? - Quora. Because a belt doesn't win fights against a being whose strength, stamina and strategic fighting techniques allowed him to beat the Hulk like a well-worn and filthy rug.
