A Division Bench of the Madras High Court on Thursday reversed a single judge's decision that a husband and wife living under one roof could possess only one Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) connection in either of their names and not two separate connections as held by many families.
There is the 3 steps process:
- Submit the copy of the death certificate if the person who has deceased and the gas connection is in his name.
- Submit the copy of one government Id proof and stay proof.
- Fill up the form and make it the same as the affidavit received from the bharat gas distributor.

Transfer of Connection Outside the Family: A valid LPG can be transferred by a citizen to a person outside his or her family. Transfer of Connection without Consent From the Transferor: An LPG connection can be transferred onto another person's name without presenting the signature of the original owner.

In Subsidy Case, you can order a maximum of 12 cylinders per year per household and this can be availed only at PSU gas agencies (indane/HP/Bharat). There is no limit on the number of cylinders to be ordered for non-subsidy either at PSU gas agencies or any private players (TOTAL GAS, SHV..).
