Overall Arrow Weightsbow should be in the 360- to 480-grain range, a 70-lb. bow in the 420- to 560-grain range. As game weight increases, lean toward the heavier end to keep momentum as high as possible.

Carbon arrows are probably the all around best choice for most recurve bows, whether it be for practice target shooting, competitions and even hunting. These are ideal for recurves with a draw weight from 40 to 60 pounds.
5575 indicates that the arrow could be used for bows from 55lb to 75lb draw weight (more or less). 500, 400, 340 indicate the spine deflection.
If your arrows are too lightly or heavily spined for your bow, the “archer's paradox” movements will be extreme, resulting in poor arrow flight and loss of accuracy. Arrow manufacturers publish selection charts that match bow weights to proper arrow spine.
If you want to target practice, you want the arrow to weigh in total (shaft, vanes, insert, nock and field point combined) around 5 to 6 grain per pound of draw weight. So if your bow has 60 lbs. of draw, you want to use arrows that weigh in total between 300 and 360 grain.

Describe three or more different types of arrows. Carbon arrows are light but less stiff. Aluminum arrows are slightly heavier than carbon arrows but they are stiffer and break less easily. Wooden arrows are traditional but they break too easily to use in higher power recurve bows or compound bows.
Arrows must be matched with your bow. Mismatched arrows may not fly correctly or accurately.
